ThoughtForge Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2, 2026

ThoughtForge is a personal dictation, thought capture, analysis, and export tool. It stores your thoughts locally in your browser unless you choose to connect Google Drive, export a Google Doc, or call a configured model provider.

Data Stored Locally

Thought text, generated analyses, source notes, audio clips, settings, and optional browser-side API keys may be stored in this device's browser storage so the app can work between sessions.

Google Drive Data

When you connect Google Drive, ThoughtForge stores a hidden sync archive named thoughtforge-sync.json in Google's application data folder. This archive is used only to sync ThoughtForge thoughts between your own devices. When you export a Google Doc, ThoughtForge creates a visible Google Docs file in your Google Drive from the active thought and its analysis.

Model Provider Data

When you generate, format, or transcribe content, ThoughtForge sends the needed text, source material, or audio to the model provider you select or to the Cloudflare server endpoint configured for the app. Provider processing is governed by that provider's own terms and privacy policy.

API Keys

Browser-entered API keys remain in this device's browser storage and are sent only to the ThoughtForge server endpoint when needed for a generation or transcription request. Server-side keys are stored as Cloudflare secrets and are not exposed in the app interface.

Sharing

ThoughtForge does not sell personal data. It shares data only when necessary to perform the action you choose, such as syncing with Google Drive, exporting a Google Doc, or sending content to a selected model provider.

Deleting Data

You can delete thoughts inside ThoughtForge. You can also remove local browser data through your browser's storage settings and remove the app's Google Drive access or app data from your Google Account settings.

Contact

This is a personal-use app operated by Peter Orahovats. For questions about this policy, use the Google account or communication channel through which you received access to the app.
